Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Application

Updated on

This article reviews the use of the EncaptureMD musculoskeletal ultrasound application. It is divided into the following bilateral regions:

Shoulder, Elbow, Knee, Ankle - point and click with template adjunct

Wrist, Hand, Foot - template-driven

Combined region reports are possible.

Overview

Use the tab bar (1) to navigate to the region. All regions are divided into a Right and Left section. For the point and click views, there are buttons to clear (1) the report and begin again or to auto-set all fields to normal. To read with abnormalities, choose the abnormal findings then click the All else normal RIGHT button to finish the report on that side.

Each region is divided in left and right presented in patient-oriented layout with right on the left of the screen. The left and right sides have the same choice fields.

For each structure, there is a General field. If that is normal, additional abnormalities cannot be used. But if abnormal, then, in the example below, tear, thickened, calcified and fluid choices become available.

At the bottom of each region/side there is a tech and MD conclusion note. Both of these fields are capable of typing/free texting, templating and speech to dictate entry. The one button copies the tech note to the MD conclusion note. The templates are accessed from the icon in the upper right of the text box.

The report generates on the right side. Right and left findings are presented in 2 different boxes. Each region has its own findings. The conclusion is common across all regions. Click on the sentence to edit/free text a sentence. Right click to send a comment to the conclusion.

Shoulder

Wrist, Hand and Foot

These regions reports are driven solely by templates or speech to text. The user builds or copies their templates into these fields.
