This application is used to create coronary calcium reports from CT scans. It also includes clinical guidelines to calculate risk scores. The application works best if provided with patient history, height, weight and blood pressure and the following lab data:
Fasting glucose, cholesterol panel and HbA1c.
To send data to EncaptureMD, the CT scanner must support export of calcium scores as DICOM SR and that feature must be active.
Procedure Tab - Coronary Calcium
- Enter ethnic origin and coronary risk factors
- Enter labs - fasting glucose, lipid panel and HbA1c.
- Enter height and weight in either common or metric units. BSA and BMI will calculate and BMI guidelines will set automatically. Enter blood pressure. BP guideline will set automatically.
- The Framingham Risk, the UKPDS 10 Year Risk and the CAC Vascular age Framingham Score will calculate. The values used to calculate each appear in context for reference.
- Enter the Coronary calcium scores. If your CT scanner exports this data as DICOM SR, the values will be present when the study is opened. The total calcium score and estimated vascular age will appear and the gender-specific Graph will populate.
- If there was a prior calcium score, use this section to enter the previous study and calculate a progression
- Overall results are presented and suggested risk, etc will be calculated. It can be overridden if desired.
The clinical report builds here. Impressions and recommendations are built automatically but can be changed. You can use a our Screen Capture utility to include an image (1) in the final report as shown below. In rare cases, if the data changes, you may have to click the Regenerate button(2) to see updates.
