Referring MDs can become duplicated in the EncaptureMD Referring Manager.
Referring Dr. James Cameroon can end up as
- James Cameron
- Jim Cameroon
- J Cameroon
Since they don't match, EncaptureMD will create multiple records.
Duplicate referrings can occur when:
- Incorrect MD names are in modality pick lists
- Incorrect HL7 inbound data
- Manual entry mistakes
To prevent recurrence, fix the referring in the source system.
Note: Merging requires Administrator privileges.
Note: Merge, do not delete referring MDs or existing studies will lose reference to an assigned referring.
Identifying Duplicates
Open Referring MD manager from the Admin section in the left sidebar.
The current list of referring providers displays as a paged alphabetical list sorted A-Z by last name, first name (see the screenshot below).
The paged list displays 40 records per page with the total number of records and the page count along the bottom.
Four predefined options exist for finding duplicate Referring MD records
- Find Dups by Name
- Find Dups by NPI
- Find Dups by TIN
- Find Dups by External ID
Column headers may also be used to filter, sort and search for specific Referring MD records.
