EncaptureMD Documentation & FAQ

How users, groups, jobs and apps coordinate

Updated on

  • An administrator creates a user for a person
  • Users can belong to one or more groups
  • Applications have one or more jobs
  • Groups are assigned to App jobs

Once groups and app jobs are set up, users, once created, need only be assigned to a group to be configured in EncaptureMD.

App Jobs

Note: Access to Jobs requires Developer privileges.

In the Dev setup, jobs are created and defined for apps. The example below are the jobs from the Coronary Calcium app. Clicking on a job row, in the example below, Attending, loads that job's editor below. For more information click on this link: jobs and applications.

Summary: Jobs controls a user's access to an apps views and reports and whether the job can create professional and technical bills (if active for this app). Jobs are usually set up first by the app developer. This includes defining views and reports.

Groups

Note: User must have Site Admin privileges to create or edit groups.

Summary: A group is associated with one or more user. A group can be associated with one or more apps through a job. Groups can be limited to one or multiple locations where that app is installed. For complete information on groups, click: group management.

Groups are set up once apps are installed in a customer site. Groups are usually set up before users are added, but this is not required.

Users

Note: User must have Site Admin privileges to create or edit users.

Summary: People are defined as users. Users belong to one or more groups.  Through the groups, users access jobs for apps. For more information, click: User Management.

Users are added and assigned to groups.  The group controls what they can do and where.
