Note: This article is intended to assist you in setting up the Siemens Cypress. Please work with your Siemens service representative for further assistance.
Make sure to set up a shared folder at C:\ and also make sure that the total length of the Share name including back slashes ("\") is NO LONGER THAN 12 characters. This is because the Cypress is built on Windows NT and Windows NT has a maximum 12 character constraint for network Share names.

Cypress Multimedia setup
On the Cypress, go to Setup, select Multimedia Connection, select Add.
Remote Share: \\(full computer name)\(shared folder name)
User name: (workgroup)\(Windows login account name)
Password: (password used to log into Windows, typed in twice)
The full computer name can be found by right clicking System in the Windows control panel, select Properties, select tab Computer name
The shared folder name is ONLY the name of the shared folder. DO NOT indicate drive path, list only the name of the shared folder.
The workgroup is found by right clicking System in the Windows control panel, select Properties, select tab Computer Name
The Windows login account name can be found by opening the Windows xontrol panel, select User Accounts, use name of account.
The password is the password used to log into Windows when booting the computer. NOTE: You may have to create a new user account for the cypress to log in.
Testing - Click the "Verify" button.
If all of the above steps have been done correctly and verify fails, check Windows firewall settings, or presence of third party antivirus program or firewall.
To check network connection, enter IP address of PC into DICOM server setup and use the ping button. (anything can be entered for name, AE title & port number). Also ping the Cypress from the PC.
