This article provides an overview of the Referring Physician search functionality within EncaptureMD.
Adding referring physicians to a study
- The Referring Physician List is located in the top right portion of the Study tab. Click the + Referring to Study button to open the search dialog window.
- Enter the provider last name, email address or NPI number to search
- In the example below, an "s" will display all of the last names that begin with S.
- Searching by first name requires a comma and a space before the character string/letter. (See example below)
- Searching an email address requires the full email address.
- Searching an NPI number requires the full 10 digit number.
- In the example below, an "s" will display all of the last names that begin with S.
- Previously associated MDs for the current patient will display in the right side of the window.
- Clicking + Add to Study in the row associated with the desired physician adds the selected entry to the study.
Note if no provider is found using the search criteria entered and the user has privileges to manage referring providers, the user will see a blue + Referring MD option in the results window.
After adding physicians to the study, the type of association for the physician (Ordering, Referring, Attending, etc.) is selected by clicking in the Type box beside the physician name.
Right clicking a physician row in the Referring Physician List allows the user to remove the selected physician from a study.
