This workflow presumes that EncaptureMD opens normally when a study is opened in the viewer. If EncaptureMD does not open, then the Local Proxy software may not be installed or running.
Was it a few or all measurements?
Please consider the following
- Has the individual measurement been mapped in EncaptureMD? An uncommonly used measurement, a new modality that has not been fully configured or if you are a new customer and we missed a measurement may all be causes. Click here to load instructions on how to map these measurements.
- Was the measurement you are trying to import added to the modality manually? If it is not part of the standard DICOM SR measurement set, the modality may not send it OR will send it with a non-standard tag. These measurements may not be importable.
Is this a new US machine or has it been recently updated?
Please check the following:
- Is DICOM SR send active on the machine? If you are not sure, the modality vendor may be able to answer. Some very old machines cannot send DICOM SR at all but this is very rare.
- Has this modality been mapped in EncaptureMD? Click here to load instructions on how to map these measurements.
Does the study in question actually have measurements. Stress echocardiograms or very limited or low quality studies may not have measurements.
Is your network slow or is your cabling damaged?
All networks can seem slow at some times. If a study takes more than 5 minutes to transfer, then that implies a slow network. If the cabling is damaged or the network has frequent drop-outs, then data may be lost.
The DICOM SR file that contains the measurements is usually sent last so if the study has not fully transferred before opening in EncaptureMD, the measurements may not be there yet. To test, wait a few minutes until the study has fully transferred to the PACS/VIewer, then reimport the measurements.
DONE - there were no measurements to import.
