This article describes configuring referring MD records to support the auto fax feature - faxes are sent to referrings when the report is finalized by the attending MD.
The following conditions must be met:
- Faxing must be enabled for your account. Contact EncaptureMD support to enable.
- Individual reports must be configured in the EncaptureMD developer. May require EncaptureMD support if your local team does not develop EncaptureMD apps.
- The referring MD entry must have a defined fax number and faxing enabled.
How to setup Auto Referring faxing
Auto referring access can be done from within a study or via the Fax Manager.
From within a study
Note: End users may be restricted from editing referring data from within a study as the data may be imported from the EMR which would be the source of truth. Consult your local admin for additional information.
- Click +Phone Number to add a fax number to the phone number list.
- Check Receive results by fax. "Why do I have to do this?" There are some customers who only want to manually fax to certain referrings.
From the Referring MD manager
Fax setup can also be done through the Referring MD Manager. In the same way as above:
- Click +Phone Number to add a fax number to the phone number list.
- Check Receive results by fax.
