Using the Fax Queue History

Updated on

This article describes troubleshooting fax transmission in EncaptureMD using the fax queue history.

Fax Queue History

Fax Queue History for all fax records is accessed by clicking the Fax icon on the left side panel. As noted earlier, Fax Queue History for a specific patient may be accessed by right clicking a study on the worklist, selecting Quick View from the context menu, and clicking the Faxing tab.

By default, the list of studies in the fax queue displays today's transmissions per the Requested Date/Time column sorted newest to oldest. Every fax transmission within the time frame selected is listed along with the current status and associated message (see the related article below).

Filtering and sorting columns within Fax Manager functions the same as the worklist. Click within the Requested Date/Time column header to select an alternate date or date range. Columns available for filtering include:

  • Patient Last Name
  • Patient First Name
  • PID (MRN)
  • Date/Time Performed
  • Response Date/Time
  • Status
  • Fax Number
  • Recipient
  • Application

Source, Message, Reports, and Pages are not available to be filtered but may be used to sort the list by clicking the column label. In the example below, the Status of "Failed" is the filter (1) and the failed entries are sorted by the Message column (2).

Right Click Context Menu in the Fax Queue History

Right clicking an entry in the list provides opens a context menu with three options:

  1. View a PDF of the faxed report
  2. Open the full study
  3. Try Again which sends the same fax to the original recipient using the same fax number.
