How do I do a password reset?

Updated on

This article covers password resets. They can be done individually or in bulk.  Individual reset requests are one option for a forgotten password if the user's email address is incorrect.

Note: this requires EncaptureMD Site Admin privileges.

Only Active users can have their password reset. Added or Invited don't yet have a defined password, so the only option is to resend an invitation.

Password Reset

Load the Admin->Users screen

  1. Single select one active user OR multi select  (click hold then shift click) any Active user that requires a reset (you can also use the status filter to only show active)
  2. right click anywhere on the list and choose Email password reset. Each chosen user will have a password reset sent to the email on file.

Before sending this reset, it is always a good idea to review users to make sure they are active (look at last login) and have a current email address listed. Any inactive user should be disabled before sending any resets.

The user will receive an email with instructions on how to reset their password. Users can also reset their own passwords from the login screen.
