DICOM SR is a weak standard, so there can be significant differences not only between manufacturers but also models within the same manufacturer or, less commonly, when an existing machine is updated or upgraded to a new software version or revision. To ensure the new/updated modality works properly, please notify EncaptureMD support and read the information below
For new modalities
Send manufacturer name, model and, if available, DICOM conformance statement for the new modality to EncaptureMD Support. Once the modality has arrived, perform test studies, one of each type (e.g. 1 echo, 1 vascular) which contains all the common measurements and open it in EncaptureMD and review the measurement tabs. Notify EncaptureMD Support when the study is performed and we will do the map testing and adjust as needed,
For Existing modalities undergoing an update/upgrade revision
It is uncommon for US machine DICOM SR to change when upgrading, but it has happened-rarely. When the new machine arrives, please perform a single study with all measurements, load into EncaptureMD and review the inbound measurements. If there is anything different than usual, please contact EncaptureMD support.
